We know sustainability is a community effort. We all have lots to learn
and share. The challenges that face us are large. Working together with
shared intentions and open minds - this is the only way we will create
a better tomorrow.
We're members of the World Cocoa Foundation,
an organization made up of the world's leading chocolate companies.
Together, we support projects in origin countries, focused on
sustainable farming, commercial development and child labor issues.
We
buy Green Tags to offset 100% of the energy used at our Ashland
facility, and all the emissions from shipping our on-line store orders.
Everything you order travels lightly over the earth! Our Green Tags are
from the Bonneville Environmental Foundation. You can calculate your carbon footprint and purchase Green Tags to cover it, no matter where you live.
In the organic and sustainable foods industry, we work
with many other companies to educate others, share ingredients and
learn a few new tricks. We hope you'll take a carbon-neutral internet
visit to our friends at Clif Bar, Guayaki Yerba Mate, Manitoba Harvest, Numi Tea and Sambazon.

The
seeds we're offering come from our new friends, Don and Kimberly, who
have stewarded Seven Seeds Farm for 10 years in Williams, Oregon. They
produce fruits, vegetables, seeds, wool, eggs and lamb biodynamically
and organically. Their farm is a living organism where "waste" products
are recycled to feed new cycles of life. It has been lauded as one of
the best small productive Permaculture farms in the region. Besides
farming, Don & Kimberly practice willow basketry, biodiversity,
acorn harvesting, ecoforestry, aquaculture, music-making, and
harnessing energy from sun, water and wood. Seven Seeds mentors new
farmers through internships and workshops. We're proud to share their
seeds, and make sure their interns never run out of Dagoba chocolate
this summer!
